Ringo, Steve

Steve Ringo teaches at Whitworth College as an Adjunct Instructor in English. He also teaches for the State of Washington prison system (D.O.C.) at Pine Lodge Corrections Center for Women – in the job readiness field. Steve has a Moaster of Fine Arts – Creative Writing degree from Eastern Washington University and studied under the poet Gillian Conoley. He is a former Lutheran pastor and made numerous trips to Holden as a youngster and in the “later years”. Steve is married to Bretta and they share 4 children, living in Spokane and members at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Steve has been making assemblages from found objects for about 5 years and has shamelessly sold pieces to unwitting purchasers. He credits Bretta, Berit Ringo (his mum) and Herbert Brokering (Holden emeritus) for deeply inspiring him in words of art and freedom of expression.
