Pastor Mike Wilker is a poor fool who works with Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC) as executive director. His spouse Judy Kittleson and their children Maija and Karl suffer his pitiful humor. Together they are part of the merry band of fools at Luther Place Memorial Church in Washington, DC. To curb his humor-less obsession with civic life, Michael runs marathons, watches Sci-Fi movies, reads historical biographies and wrestles with his kids.
