I have studied scripture in college for 6 years in Germany, India, Ireland, England and finally getting my BA in BS from the same school as Wes Pribe, LBIS (aka Trinity Lutheran College). After graduation, I did not see many “freelance theologian” job postings and not wanting to go to seminary, I went into homeless services. I worked for the next 10 years in supportive housing and as a Mental Health Case Manager for homeless and formerly homeless adult suffering from severe mental illness and/ or chemical dependency issues.
