Marit Trelstad is Professor of Constructive and Lutheran Theology in the Religion Department of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. She also teaches for the Women and Gender Studies program at PLU. Prior to coming to PLU, she taught at Gustavus Adolphus College and California Lutheran University for 3 years each and spent a semester teaching at St. Olaf College. She has served on the ELCA Task Force on Human Sexuality.
In her own theology, Trelstad combines Feminist, Process and Lutheran theologies and is committed to understanding both the genius and mistakes in classic, “traditional” theologies. Her recent book is entitled: Cross Examinations: Readings on the Meaning of the Cross Today.
