Doug is a long time visitor to Holden with his wife and daughter. He is an English Literature Professor at Seattle Pacific University and author of "A New Earth (a study of George Herbert and William Blake)", "Rapture of the Deep: Reflections on the Wild in Art, Wilderness and the Sacred", "Wisdom Sings the World: Poetry, Creation and the Way of Dwelling", a book influenced by his teaching Old and New Testament texts, Dante, Blake, Dostoyevsky and others. He also edited the book "Work & the Life of the Spirit".
