Eunice was born into a Lutheran household, and first came to Holden in 1961. She spends her days writing and teaching creative writing classes. She sees students who have never written out of either experience or imagination, and others, who are widely published. Eunice says, "The art of writing is chosen by only a few; but the act of writing is open to all of us—a place to record, re-member and renew ourselves."
