Born and raised in South Dakota, Roy Satre graduated from Augustana College, Sioux Falls SD, and from Luther Seminary, St. Paul MN. Roy served rural and small town congregations in the Midwest, and in the early ‘70’s he was director of Lutherans Outdoors of South Dakota. From the beginning of the ELCA in 1988 to his retirement in 2001, Roy served as Assistant to the Bishop in Southeastern Minnesota Synod in Rochester MN.
