Jaleh is a photographer and painter currently based in Seattle, Washington. Jaleh is the daughter of an African American Lutheran Pastor and a Persian Shiite Muslim. As a multiracial woman in America, Jaleh strives to find a way to highlight and empower the voice and experience of those often ignored. “As an artist, I am interested in discovering ways to share the stories of people of color whose voice and story are often silenced. As a media artist, I am interested in capturing as much of the real experience as possible. I want the viewer to hear, see, feel the reality of a place.” Jaleh is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seattle. She serves as a Board member for Holden Village. She also serves on the Arts Commission for the City of Tukwila, Washington.
