Rev. Robert A. Rimbo has served as Bishop of the Southeast Michigan Synod, ELCA, since June of 1998. Bishop Rimbo is a 1972 graduate of Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, where his studies concentrated on theology and music literature and theory. He is a 1976 graduate of Christ Seminary – Seminex, St. Louis, Missouri. He is married to Lois, and they are parents of two adult children, Deborah and Justin.
Bishop Rimbo has served the Church in a variety of capacities: pastorates, director of music, chaplain, editor, advisor on boards, etc. He is currently writing a book for Augsburg Fortress Publishers entitled Why Worship Matters. He was part of the Consultation on Preaching and is currently on the Resource Proposal Team for the Renewing Worship project of the ELCA.
