Ojakangas, Beatrice

Beatrice is a cookbook author, consultant, and recipe developer. She was born and raised in Northern Minnesota and received her B.S. in Home Economics from the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
She was an editor at Sunset magazine in Menlo Park, California while her husband was at Stanford working on his PhD in geology. After that, when he accepted a position at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, she moved there and has lived there ever since.
Beatrice volunteers in the kitchen at First Lutheran Church in Duluth, believing strongly that "If you fee them, they will come".has been an important part of her life. When she's not volunteering in the church kitchen, she is writing. Beatrice has written about 25 cookbooks and countless articles for several national publications. In 2006, she was the recipient of the James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame emphasizing her Great Scandinavian Baking book.
