Martin Marty is Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago Divinity School where he taught from 1963 to 1998. He served St. Olaf College as Regent, Board Chair and Interim President (2000). He has been a columnist with "The Christian Century" magazine since 1956. He has published a number of major works and authored thousands of articles.
