Dr. Edward Lindaman became President of Whitworth College, Spokane, Washington in 1970 and retired in 1980. Earlier, he had been with the North American Rockwell Corporation, where he was director of programming for the Apollo space project. He passed away in 1982 at the age of 62 as the result of a viral illness while on tour in China.
