Kim graduated from the University of Miami in Florida where she studied religion and biology. She studied Theology at Emory University then earned a Masters in Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary. She started a new Deaf congregation in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Kim later received her Juris Doctorate. She is the founding and managing attorney at Lengert Law LLC, a three attorney law firm where she focuses on issues that affect children.
