Peder earned a PhD in Religious Ethics from the University of Chicago Divinity School. He teaches religion at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota teaching Bible, theology and ethics. Currently, his research focuses on questions of moral formation and practice, especially in relation to technology, culture, and art. His first book, "Kierkegaard, Selfhood, and Aesthetics: The Art of Subjectivity" was published in 2014.
