My entire career has been spent on campuses: Iowa to Pennsylvania to Minnesota, spouting sociology at Luther College but in later chapters serving as academic dean at Gustavus and chancellor at U Minnesota, Morris. Now in retirement, living in Minneapolis, I'm actively involved in U of M's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, offering much of the same stuff on public policy in the Scandinavian nations that I will be doing here at Holden. Add other involvements at Central Lutheran, at my lake place "up north," and in admissions work for the University. I presented some of this course at Holden last year, loved the interaction, and now like a bad penny, I'm back. In between, I've been shuttling to Scandinavia numerous times, both as a consultant on international exchange to universities there and as a leader of several American hiking groups.
