Howard V. Hong (1912-2010) taught philosophy at St. Olaf College until his retirement in 1978. While Dr. Hong earned his degree in English Literature and enjoyed word play, he and his wife Edna translated most of the private and public written work of Danish philosopher/theologian Sǿren Kierkegaard. He and his wife also established the Kierkegaard Library, which is housed at St. Olaf, and bears their name.
