Betty is a retired mathematics instructor, having taught most of her career at Shoreline Community College, Seattle. She first encountered the labyrinth in 1998 at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle, where she had an "extraordinary and transformative experience". She has since participated in a labyrinth workshop at Chartres Cathedral, France, and is particularly interested in using the labyrinth as a focusing medium for support group rituals, celebrations and worship liturgy.
