Dan Geslin grew up Lutheran in Minnesota and attended St. Olaf College and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the United Church of Christ in 1983 as an openly gay minister. He served as the first chaplain on the San Francisco General Hospital aids ward, and as founding pastor of both Spirit of the Lakes UCC in Minneapolis and Liberation UCC in Cleveland, congregations of Christian lesbians, gay men, their parents, families and friends.
