Don is a professional hydrogeologist, which means he studies ground water for a living. He first came to Holden Village in 1997 to study the ground water of the mine site, and has been back many times since then to further study the groundwater, to lead sessions as part of volunteer teaching staff, and to lead elder village sessions on geology. He currently lives in Portland, where he works, spends time with friends, and fritters away time playing golf and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.
