Leo Bustad was a veterinarian, educator, scientist and humanitarian. While dean of the veterinary school at Washington State University, he co-founded the People-Pet Partnership (which became the Delta Society), the first university-based community service program focused on the human-animal bond. Each year an outstanding veterinarian receives the Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award.
Dr. Leo Bustad passed away September 1998.
