Madelyn is an ELCA consecrated diaconal minister currently serving as assistant to the bishop in the Rocky Mountain Synod. She lives in central Denver with her husband, Dennis, where they are involved in a vibrant and diverse downtown congregation committed to ministry in the city. Prior to coming to Denver they lived in Chicago where Madelyn served as Director for Candidacy in the Division for Ministry. She is really a native Washingtonian and dreams of one day living on San Juan Island. Dennis and Madelyn have traveled together on global mission trips to Central America and Madagascar. Her educational journey includes a BA in theology from Valparaiso University, an MA in marriage and family therapy from Pacific Lutheran University, an MA in theology with an emphasis in pastoral care from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, and a certificate in spiritual direction from the Vincentian Center for Spirituality and Work in Denver.
She writes, "I have been blessed by the privilege, wonder and joy of accompanying people in spiritual direction both individually and in groups. My spirituality is fed in community as well as in solitude and I look forward to exploring further how the gifts and disciplines of spiritual direction and discernment can be developed in group settings."
