Mia is ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). She has served as a parish pastor, was Holden Village's Pastor, and served as Executive Director of Immanuel Community Services. She works as a healthcare chaplain in oncology. She has led workshops on Nonviolence and Resiliency. She also serves on the School of Theology and Ministry Ecumenical and Interreligious Advisory Council. Mia received her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Analyzing Systems of Help from St. Olaf, has a masters in Non-profit Leadership from Seattle University, and a Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary.
