Charles Kingsley Barrett is a British Biblical scholar. He was born in England in 1917 into a Methodist parsonage. Educated at Pembroke College and Wesley College, Cambridge, he was ordained into the Methodist Church and served at Wesley College, Leeds. During World War II he was a Methodist minister at Darlington. He was appointed to the faculty of the University of Durham as a lecturer in 1945, then senior lecturer then as professor in 1959. He was a professor at University of Durham when he visited Holden Village in 1977.
He has authored a number of books and is known for his commentaries on the New Testament.
