Aana earned her PhD in Christian Social Ethics from Union Theological Seminary in New York (2004), her Masters from PLTS in Berkeley, CA (1995) and her Bachelor’s from St. Olaf College (1990). Currently, she is Assistant Professor of Ethics at Loyola University Chicago and is serving on the ELCA’s national Taskforce charged with writing a social statement on genetics. She has written Women, Ethics, and Inequality in U.S. Healthcare: “To Count Among The Living” (Palgrave/MacMillan, 2006) and has contributed chapters to several books including: Disrupting White Supremacy from Within (Pilgrim Press, 2004) and To Do Justice: Engaging Progressive Christians in Social Action (Westminster/John Knox Press, 2008).
