Storl, Heidi

When I was only about 6 years old, I asked my father one of those unthinkable questions: if he had to choose between my mother’s life and my own, how would he choose? Though I didn’t have a clue about philosophy at age 6, I knew I was a philosopher by age 20. Though I thought biochemistry was my future (it was my intended undergraduate major), I changed to a philosophy major with only three semesters to go. Some would call it my “calling,” others might use “vocation” instead, but no matter how you look at it, I live and breathe a “what if” kind of life. What this means, practically speaking, is that when I do my favorite things– outings with my family, traveling, horse-back riding, knitting—I think philosophy. It’s my way of life.
