Charles Solberg, retired ELCA pastor, is a graduate from Luther College, in Decorah, IA. He attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, having done a year’s stint at the Universities of Heidelberg and Tuebingen in Germany. Serving parishes in SD and IA for 25 years, he did a year’s sabbatical in music at St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, in 1987. Since then he’s done 19 interim pastorates, mostly in the SE Minnesota Synod.
His special interest in ministry has been parish education and liturgy. His work with Psalms was inspired by the late Alvin Rogness, who, in 1964 conducted the first Kairos Week at Luther Seminary using Psalms as a mirror for looking at parish ministry. Using this as a model, Charles will lead discussions in Psalms at Holden.
