Schwehn, Mark

Mark Schwehn is a fly fisherman from Indiana who teaches Humanities at Valparaiso University. During his first year of teaching at the University Chicago more than thirty years ago, he taught with Norman Maclean, who was then in his last year of teaching. Mark never got to go fishing with Norman, but they did watch the NCAA tournament together each March. Mark has been coming to Holden since 1978. When he returns home in early July, he will become Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Valparaiso. He is at Holden with his wife, Dorothy Bass. They have three adult children, and their first grandchild is on the way.
