Sonja Meiers defines herself as 'a mom, wife, nurse, teacher, church member, and friend of many wonderful people.' She is most immediately committed to enhancing care for families within the health care system. As a nurse, she has seen the interconnected nature of family health and the health care system intimately. Sonja is passionate about and involved in research in the area of family nursing. Her Ph.D. is from the University of Minnesota in Nursing (2002), and she has taught nursing at Minnesota State University, Mankato since 1992.
Norma Krumwiede graduated with a nursing degree from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD. Her nursing career has led her into intensive care, orthopedics, cancer nursing, home care and to her current position as a nurse educator at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She received her doctorate from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and has launched a research career in the area of family nursing since that time. Norma is passionate about care of the individual and family with cancer, as well as the role of the nurse with culturally diverse families and individuals. In 2004 she is just returning from a one-year sabbatical where she traveled in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatamala and Panama.
