George, Mel

Mel was a graduate of Northwestern University and earned a doctorate in mathematics from Princeton University. He was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska and a faculty member in mathematics at the University of Missouri where he served as vice president for academic Affairs and later as interim president. He also served as president of St. Olaf and after retirement returned to the University of Missouri again as interim President.
Mel passed away April, 2016.
