Walter Brueggemann was ordained in the United Church of Christ. He attended Eden Theological Seminary (BD), Union Theological Seminary(Th.D) and Saint Louis University (Ph D). He is well known as a leading Old Testament scholar, retiring from Columbia Theological Seminary in the early 2000s.
He has authored many books, hundreds of articles and a number of commentaries on books of the Bible.
