Art came to Holden in 1982 as a retiree from soil conservation service with the US Dept of Agriculture, Kansas. He was Mount St. Helens Restoration Project supervisor. Art and his wife Doris worked in Papua New Guinea as volunteers with the Lutheran World Ministries.
