Marenco, Marc

Marc Marenco has taught moral philosophy and religious studies at Pacific University since 1988. Since 2000 he is also the Director of the Pacific Institute for Ethics & Social Policy, an ethics and public policy program at Pacific. He received his M.Div. from Yale University in 1983 and his doctorate in philosophy from Oxford University in 1992. In 2005 he was the recipient of a $257,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to create the "Faith Forum on Genetics" project, a program designed to teach the scientific, ethical and theological dimensions of genetics to communities of faith in the Portland/Metro area. He lives with his daughter, Dascha (15), and son Paul (8) in Forest Grove, Oregon. This fall they will host an International student, Miyu, from Japan. Miyu will spend her first week in America with us at Holden Village Aug 23 - 29.
