Jacobson, Diane

Diane Jacobson is a professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, MN where she has been teaching since 1982. She also serves as director of the Book of Faith Initiative for the ELCA. Jacobson is, first and foremost, a lover of Scripture. And she loves as well helping others unlock the Bible's many hidden treasures.

Jacobson is a frequent speaker throughout the Church. She most recently co-authored "Opening the Book of Faith: Lutheran Insights for Bible Study" (2008) and served on the consulting board and as a contributor to the "Lutheran Study Bible" (2009). Her writings include, "A Beginner's Guide to the Bible", co-authored with Robert Kyser (1991), the 1997 Lutheran Woman Today Bible Study, "From Slavery to Service: A Study of Exodus", several chapters in the 2006 LWF study "Witnessing to God's Faithfulness: Issues of Biblical Authority", and numerous articles on such topics as wisdom, creation and psalms.

Diane is married to Paul. They are the proud parents of three sons who have blessed them with three daughters-in-law who together have graced their lives with three grandsons.
