Swenson, Michael

Michael Swenson lives in Nome, Alaska, with his wife Leslie. He attended St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota Medical School. For the past ten years he has worked as a physician at Norton Sound Regional Hospital, and he and his family have been members at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Nome is a multicultural community, composed of Inupiat and Yupik Eskimos, descendants of the original Gold Rush settlers, and a mixture of immigrants from the “lower 48” and other parts of the world. Because of this diversity, Nome has been a fascinating and challenging place in which to live faithfully.
